Due to the realization of the Arab Institute of Operation and Maintenance of the importance of classification and qualification of maintenance engineers to improve and upgrade this specialization, and in order to accomplish the Institute objectives, which are stipulated in its Statute on upgrading operation and maintenance practices through training and qualification, the Institute Board has approved the list for the classification and qualification of maintenance engineers according to the following list, aided by the regulations and rules of qualification and classification applied in a number of Arab and international engineering bodies and authorities, and after being approved by the General Assembly of the Institute held during the International Forum for the operation and maintenance in December 2007 in Amman, Jordan
